TikTok advertising trends and Netflix-themed scams
Advertisers are advised to test TikTok Ads creative formats and audiences during October to avoid the rising costs of ad auctions in November. As Black Friday approaches, advertising inventory becomes more expensive, leaving less budget for trial and error. New TikTok Ads advertiser accounts can access up to $6,000 in advertising credit during their first 30 days, matching their own spend up to that limit.
Separately, a fraudulent scheme is circulating on TikTok involving fake Netflix Premium subscriptions for €1. The scam uses deepfakes or unauthorized images of French actors, such as Omar Sy and Vincent Cassel, to build false credibility. Users clicking the ads are directed to phishing sites that mimic Netflix's visual identity to steal personal data and financial information.
