TikTok and Google AI announce technological shifts

TikTok is set to introduce four new features to enhance its community interaction within the next month. Key updates include the introduction of voice comments, allowing users to attach audio recordings of up to 60 seconds to videos. Other upcoming tools include built-in polls for creators to engage audiences with up to five response options, support for Live Photos in comment sections, and the ability for users to upload up to nine photos in a single comment.

Separately, Agoston Weisz, a lead researcher for Google AI, discussed the evolution of multimodal AI models like Gemini. Weisz noted that AI systems have moved beyond text-only interactions to capabilities involving sight, sound, and video analysis. He emphasized the importance of teaching children critical thinking skills to navigate AI, warning that users may mistakenly believe they understand a concept simply because an AI provides a confident answer.
