TikTok creators charged with arson in West Virginia
TikTok creators Dakota Harper, 21, and Felicity Eatmon, 22, have been charged with first-degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson following a fire at an abandoned property in Charleston, West Virginia.
According to criminal complaints, the incident occurred on September 27 at a building on Maryland Avenue. Surveillance footage allegedly shows Eatmon handing Harper a piece of paper, which he then ignited and placed inside the structure. The fire destroyed the vacant property and caused an estimated $10,000 in heat and smoke damage to the adjacent Canaan United Methodist Church.
During a recent court appearance in Kanawha County, Harper waived his preliminary hearing, and his bail was increased from $10,000 to $20,000 after prosecutors described the crime as violent. Eatmon also waived her preliminary hearing; her bail remains at $10,000. The couple, who share a TikTok following of over 26,000 people, gained significant social media attention following the arrests, with many users revisiting their previous content regarding their lives and experiences with homelessness.
