TikTok Gaming joins Japan Esports Union
TikTok Gaming has officially joined the Japan Esports Union (JESU). The move aims to leverage TikTok’s massive user base in Japan, which reached 49.5 million monthly active users as of May 2026, to expand the recognition and development of the eSports industry.
Through this partnership, TikTok Gaming intends to collaborate with JESU and its member companies to accelerate the growth of gaming content and the influence of creators. TikTok currently hosts various activities, including official tournament content from game publishers and casual eSports competitions featuring gaming content creators.
JESU, which changed its name from the Japan Esports Federation in August 2025, focuses on promoting eSports among the public and youth. Its activities include certifying competitive titles, issuing professional licenses to players, and facilitating player participation in international events such as the Asian Games.
