TikTok named FIFA's Preferred Platform for the 2026 World Cup

TikTok has been appointed by FIFA as the Preferred Platform for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States. The partnership grants TikTok exclusive integration and access to official tournament coverage, including a dedicated World Cup Information Centre inside the app, live‑clip streams and special stickers, filters and gamified features.

The agreement creates a "Creator Correspondent" program that will involve 30 creators from 12 countries, giving them official accreditation and access to restricted zones, training sessions and press conferences. Two Argentine creators are among the five Latin American correspondents. TikTok reports that 72 % of its global users watch sports content on the platform, 85 % use it as a second screen during live events, and during the last World Cup more than 20 billion videos were viewed and over 430 000 pieces of content were posted, with Latin America achieving 58 % higher video‑view rates than other regions.
