TikTok Removes Over 5 Million Videos in Kenya and Nigeria

TikTok reported that it removed 884,591 videos in Kenya during the first quarter of 2026, including the proactive removal of 99.7% of the content before user reports and 96.3% within 24 hours. The platform also interrupted 103,847 LIVE sessions and deleted 48,739 accounts suspected of belonging to users under 13.

In Nigeria, TikTok removed more than 4.8 million videos in the same period, with 99.8% taken down proactively by AI systems and 92.8% within 24 hours. Over 120,000 LIVE sessions were suspended for guideline violations. Both markets are part of TikTok’s broader enforcement effort, which saw 184 million videos removed worldwide and more than 58 million actions on LIVE streams during the quarter.
