TikTok Shop Hair‑Growth Category Hits $36.9 M in April as Brands Like Dr. Groot and Monat Lead Sales

Data from analytics firm Charm.io shows that the hair‑growth segment on TikTok Shop doubled year‑over‑year, reaching $36.9 million in sales for the 12‑month period ending in April. Six of the platform’s top ten hair‑care brands are focused on hair‑growth products, including Korean brand Dr. Groot, MLM company Monat, and newer entrants such as Bask & Lather Co and Root Labs. The category now ranks fifth among beauty segments on TikTok Shop, behind skin care, fragrance, makeup and bath‑and‑body items.

The surge reflects broader consumer interest in scalp‑density solutions that have also performed well on other channels like Amazon, Ulta and Sephora. Popular items include Nutrafol supplements, Divi’s hair‑density boosters and roll‑on serums such as Root Labs’ saw‑palmetto formula. In a separate product review, the Roota Hair Growth Serum—a botanical roll‑on marketed to women with androgenetic alopecia, postpartum shedding or PCOS‑related thinning—claims to block DHT locally, boost circulation and avoid the dependency associated with minoxidil. The review evaluates its ingredient list (rosemary oil, Redensyl, caffeine, biotin) and notes the product’s positioning as a clean, plant‑based alternative, though long‑term efficacy remains unproven.
