TikTok‑Tokopedia group denies mass layoffs, announces over 100 new jobs in Indonesia

President Director of TikTok Indonesia, Stephanie Susilo, told reporters that the TikTok‑Tokopedia group is not conducting mass layoffs. She said the company is undertaking internal talent mobility and is recruiting for more than 100 positions across Indonesia.

Labor Minister Yassierli echoed the statement, confirming that the term “talent mobility” describes the workforce restructuring and noting that about 200 employees have already accepted compensation packages. The ministry and Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, met with the company's representatives to discuss the issue and verify that no large‑scale terminations have occurred.

Both officials highlighted the new job openings as an opportunity for Indonesian workers and affirmed that the group continues to expand its operations rather than reduce its workforce.
