Tilak Varma discusses India's T20I series draw and batting role shifts
The India and West Indies T20I series concluded in a 2-2 draw after the final match in Bengaluru ended without a result due to weather. Following the series, India's T20I vice-captain Tilak Varma noted that while the team's batting has been a strength—consistently scoring over 200 runs—the bowling department requires further introspection ahead of their upcoming series against New Zealand.
Varma also addressed changes to the team's batting lineup. Due to Ishan Kishan’s successful return to the top order, Varma has transitioned from his previous role at number three to a lower-middle-order position, typically batting at number five or six. Varma expressed readiness to embrace this new role as a finisher.
Additionally, Varma highlighted the performance of young players, specifically praising Naman Dhir for his ability to perform under pressure and his versatility as a batting all-rounder.
