Tiling Shell v18.0 released for GNOME

The Tiling Shell GNOME extension has launched version 18.0, expanding compatibility to support GNOME versions 42 through 51. This update introduces a highly requested feature allowing users to trigger tiling layouts using the right mouse button, a functionality similar to Windows PowerToys’ FancyZones.

Other notable improvements include a one-click shortcut to untile all windows, workspace-wide layout propagation options, and a fix for UI scaling issues that previously caused bloated menus on displays using fractional scaling.

Maintainer Domenico Ferraro has also implemented a new release model for the project. Release candidates will now be published on GitHub first, allowing the community to test stability across various GNOME versions before the updates are officially pushed to the GNOME Extensions website.
