The documentary “Tilsa Tsuchiya: el ojo de la luna,” directed by Mario Pozzi-Escot, is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, September 27, at 7:00 p.m. at Jazz Zone in Miraflores. Produced by Sol Pozzi-Escot and presented in alliance with MAV Perú (Mujeres en las Artes Visuales del Perú), the film explores the life and symbolic universe of the renowned Peruvian painter.
Tilsa Tsuchiya (1928–1984) was a major figure in 20th-century Peruvian art, known for a style that blended her Japanese and Chinese heritage with Peruvian myths. Her work often featured hybrid beings and dreamlike landscapes. A graduate of the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, she received the Gran Medalla de Oro in 1959 and the Premio Teknoquímica in 1970.
The film offers a personal perspective on the artist, drawing from the friendship between Tsuchiya and director Mario Pozzi-Escot, aiming to capture both her artistic legacy and her personal memory.
