Tim Cook to receive Robert Noyce Award for semiconductor industry contributions

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) has announced that Apple Executive Chair Tim Cook will receive the 2026 Robert Noyce Award, the highest honor in the chip industry. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to semiconductor technology or public policy that benefit the entire industry.

Cook will accept the award on November 19, 2026, at the SIA Awards Dinner in San Jose, California. AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su, who will serve as the 2026 SIA Board Chair, praised Cook as a powerful advocate for U.S. semiconductor leadership and advanced manufacturing.

The SIA noted that under Cook's leadership, Apple has transformed the global technology landscape through the development of powerful semiconductor-enabled devices. Cook attributed the recognition to Apple’s engineering teams and their work on Apple silicon, stating a commitment to advancing semiconductor innovation within the United States.
