Tim Curry to appear posthumously in new Netflix Barbie special

Netflix has announced a new reimagined animated special for ‘Barbie in the Nutcracker’ to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original 2001 film. The production will feature a posthumous voice performance by the late British actor Tim Curry, who will voice The Rat King’s Father.

Curry, known for his roles in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and ‘IT’, originally voiced the villainous Mouse King in the 2001 film. The new special is expected to arrive on Netflix later this year, with Debbie Allen serving as co-executive producer and choreographer.

The announcement follows the recent passing of the actor at age 80. Curry had faced health challenges since a major stroke in 2012, but remained active in the community through various appearances.
