Tim Finchem donates $13 million to launch new PGA Tour charity strategy
Former PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem and his wife have donated $13 million to support the launch of a restructured charitable strategy. The donation arrives as the PGA Tour transitions into a new commercial enterprise.
The tour announced plans for ‘PGA Tour Charities,’ which will focus on national priority campaigns centered on health, youth, access, and service. While individual tournaments will continue to operate independently, the new initiative aims to provide greater coordination, visibility, and resources. The PGA Tour has stated it is prepared to subsidize charity levels for tournaments moving to the Challenger Series in the 2028 schedule to ensure consistent support.
Lucas Glover, chairman of the Player Advisory Council, is leading a committee of players to help shape these new initiatives.
