Tim Seifert signs one-year deal with Sydney Sixers

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert has signed a one-year contract with the Sydney Sixers for the BBL|16 season. Seifert joins the franchise from the Melbourne Renegades, where he has played since BBL|14.

Seifert arrives following a highly successful stint in The Hundred with the Manchester Super Giants, where he was named Player of the Tournament. During that competition, he scored 394 runs in 10 innings, including a match-winning 72 off 38 balls in the final against Trent Rockets.

Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes described Seifert as “one of the premier T20 batters in world cricket,” noting that his experience and attacking intent make him a “fantastic fit for the Sixers.” His addition provides the club with significant opening firepower and an additional wicket-keeping option alongside Josh Philippe.
