TIM to raise prepaid mobile fees up to €2.99 per month in Italy

TIM announced a new unilateral contract modification for a group of prepaid mobile customers in Italy, effective 3 September 2026. The change will increase monthly fees by €1.99 to €2.99, depending on the specific plan. As with previous adjustments, TIM offers alternatives to avoid the rise: customers can switch to a dedicated offer at the same price with an additional 2 GB of data, add 50 GB of monthly data, or receive free activation of the 5G Ultra profile.

Affected users will receive a personalized SMS and can confirm the alternative offer by sending a free SMS to 40916 with the text “CONFERMO ON” no later than 21 August 2026. They may also exercise the right of withdrawal, cancel the line, or move to another operator via phone, online account, postal mail, PEC, or in‑store visits. TIM justified the increase by “economic needs linked to changed market conditions,” marking the tenth such unilateral modification announced in 2026.
