Cycling news: Martínez wins CRO Race stage as World Championships approach

Professional cycling sees significant activity across multiple major events. In the CRO Race, Colombian rider Daniel Felipe Martínez secured his first victory of the season during the fourth stage between Pula and Rijeka, ending a two-year winless streak. Despite Martínez's success, Tobias Svarre maintains the overall lead.

At the UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, elite riders are preparing for high-stakes competition. Mathieu van der Poel indicated that the absence of Tadej Pogačar could lead to a more open and unpredictable race, suggesting that other nations may need to take control of the peloton. Remco Evenepoel and Wout van Aert are also eyeing the championship, with Evenepoel noting that they intend to let other countries drive the pace rather than controlling the race themselves.

In the women's U23 category at the World Championships, Fleur Moors claimed a bronze medal, attributing her success to strong teamwork. Meanwhile, in the junior men's race, Benjamin Noval secured the world title with a solo victory.

In regional racing, Tim Merlier won the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen in a mass sprint, defeating Dylan Groenewegen, who finished second despite recovering from a recent injury.
