Timbalada brings Bahian percussion to Rock in Rio
The musical group Timbalada performed at the Espaço Favela stage during the Rock in Rio festival, bringing the energy of Bahia's Carnival to the event. The performance featured the group's signature percussion, specifically the use of timbaus, and incorporated elements of samba-reggae and axé.
During the set, vocalists Denny Denan and Buja Ferreira led the crowd through hits such as ‘Beija-Flor’ and ‘Água Mineral’. The performance included a tribute to founder Carlinhos Brown and featured diverse elements such as capoeira demonstrations on stage and the appearance of a mini trio elétrico. The repertoire also included covers, such as Queen’s ‘Love of My Life’ and Jorge Ben’s ‘País Tropical’, alongside the group's own rhythmic compositions.
