Timbiriche series sparks controversy over Sasha Sokol allegations

The upcoming ViX series about the iconic Mexican musical group Timbiriche has sparked discussion following the release of its first trailer. The eight-episode production, scheduled to premiere on October 9, aims to chronicle the group's history, including the personal lives and rivalries of its members.

Speculation has arisen regarding how the series will portray the relationship between Sasha Sokol and producer Luis de Llano. A scene in the preview features characters played by Alberto Guerra and Osvaldo Benavides, which viewers suggest may reference the abuse allegations Sokol publicly made against de Llano in 2022. Sokol has previously emphasized that her experience should be recognized as abuse rather than a romantic relationship.

The cast includes Osvaldo Benavides as Luis de Llano, Macarena García as Sasha Sokol, and Michelle Pellicer as Paulina Rubio, among others. The series will explore the group's beginnings through their adolescence and the cultural impact they had during the 1980s and 1990s.
