Artificial intelligence integration faces trust and security challenges

Artificial intelligence is rapidly integrating into various sectors, ranging from financial services and customer support to 3D modeling and advertising. In finance, AI is being used for market analysis, portfolio management, and risk assessment, with many Italian companies planning to increase investment to boost productivity.

However, the integration faces significant challenges. In the 3D printing market, only 4% of buyers trust AI-generated models. In customer service, chatbots struggle with complex or empathetic interactions. Furthermore, the rise of deepfakes poses serious security risks in the financial sector, including identity theft and fraudulent transactions.

In the workplace, a significant trust gap exists. While 71% of Italian workers use AI daily, 62% demand human supervision, preferring the technology to act as an assistant rather than an autonomous agent. This need for oversight requires workers to spend approximately 90 minutes per week verifying AI-generated results.
