Writers for the global lifestyle magazine Time Out have voted Ohrid Lake the most beautiful place in Europe, placing it ahead of well‑known sites such as Italy’s Lake Como. The judges praised the lake’s crystal‑clear water, its status as one of the oldest and deepest European lakes, surrounding mountain scenery and historic settlements.

The city of Ohrid on the Macedonian shore is highlighted as a “jewel” of the region, while the magazine also recommends visiting the Albanian side, including the village of Lin and its archaeological mosaics. The ranking’s other ten spots feature sites such as Italy’s Saturnia hot springs, Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway, and Norway’s fjords.
