Timiș Public Health Directorate reports surge in complaints
Public health complaints in Timiș County, Romania, have seen a significant increase in the first half of 2026. According to the Timiș Public Health Directorate (DSP), 454 petitions were recorded, representing a more than 50% rise compared to the 289 complaints filed during the same period in 2025.
The most frequent issues reported by residents include the quality of water sources, particularly in rural areas, living conditions, and hygiene concerns. Specific complaints involved the presence of bedbugs, waste accumulation in apartments, discomfort caused by neighbors raising animals, and hygiene standards in food preparation areas. DSP spokesperson Cornelia Bubatu noted that some complaints were redirected to other institutions depending on their specific nature.
