Timișoara completes major university infrastructure projects

Major educational infrastructure projects have been completed in Timișoara, Romania, aimed at enhancing university facilities for students and researchers.

The Victor Babeș University of Medicine and Pharmacy has received new facilities in Ghiroda, Timiș county. Funded by the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration and constructed by STRABAG, the 15,443-square-meter complex includes spaces for education, research, and medical recovery. The site features two 120-seat amphitheaters, ten seminar rooms, a library, a 400-capacity conference center, and an anthropological museum. For student life, it provides approximately 50 accommodation rooms, a dining area for 150 people, a multifunctional sports hall, and five outdoor courts.

Additionally, the West University of Timișoara has officially received Romania’s largest student dormitory. Located on Renașterii Street and funded by the Ministry of Development, the 30,729-square-meter facility provides 902 accommodation spots in double rooms. The dormitory also includes 418 places in reading and co-working areas, 1,072 square meters of dining space, underground parking, and a jogging track. The project is designed to support Romanian and international students, doctoral candidates, and young faculty members.
