Romania implements major infrastructure and educational investments

Significant infrastructure and educational investments are underway across several Romanian regions. In the West Region, over 130 schools, kindergartens, and high schools are being modernized through a 276 million euro program. Funded largely by non-reimbursable European funds, these projects aim to benefit approximately 45,000 students in Arad, Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara, and Timiș through energy efficiency upgrades and new facilities.

In Timișoara, the local administration is expanding early childhood education by opening two new nurseries in the Bogdanestilor and Bucovinei neighborhoods, providing over 140 new places for children.

In Bucharest, major urban and traffic updates are being implemented. Traffic restrictions in Piața Unirii are being lifted ahead of the new school year as construction on the Unirii Deck moves into a new phase within the existing site. Additionally, a large-scale redevelopment of Calea 13 Septembrie is progressing, aiming to create a 4-kilometer “green corridor” featuring over 200,000 plants and 1,600 trees to revitalize the area.
