Timișoara municipality sterilizes over 40 dogs and cats for free

In the first month of its free animal sterilisation programme, 44 residents of Timișoara have had their pets sterilised – 19 dogs and 25 cats. The municipal initiative also covered transport for 17 of the animals, issued 22 health certificates and performed 26 micro‑chip implantations.

The two‑year programme is open to all city inhabitants regardless of income and includes post‑operative care, micro‑chipping for dogs, registration in the city’s dog‑owner database and issuance of health cards. Pet owners can apply online or at the city’s citizen‑information service.
