Timișoara announces traffic restrictions for Super Rally and festivals

Timișoara will implement significant traffic and parking restrictions starting August 27, 2026, to accommodate several major events and utility works. The most substantial disruptions are due to the third stage of the National Super Rally Powered Championship, scheduled for August 29. This motorsport event will transform the city center into a circuit, involving major thoroughfares such as I. C. Brătianu Boulevard and 20 Decembrie 1989 Street.

Specific traffic closures for the rally will affect various sections of I. C. Brătianu, C. D. Loga, and Regele Ferdinand I boulevards, as well as 20 Decembrie 1989 and Patriarh Miron Cristea streets. Additionally, parking spaces in Piața Iancu Huniade and adjacent to I. C. Brătianu Boulevard will be reserved for the event.

Other scheduled activities include the CODRU Festival at the Village Museum and the Opera and Operetta Festival at Rose Park from August 27 to 30. Furthermore, gas network maintenance by Delgaz Grid will cause restrictions on Matei Millo Street and surrounding areas through September 30.
