Timișoara–Bucharest flights rerouted to Arad due to runway works

Due to scheduled runway maintenance at Timișoara International Airport, flights on the Timișoara–Bucharest route will be temporarily rerouted to Arad International Airport from November 2 to November 22. During this period, airlines including AnimaWings, HiSky, and TAROM will operate flights between Bucharest (Otopeni) and Arad, as well as charter services to Hurghada.

AnimaWings is scheduled to operate two daily flights on the Bucharest–Arad route and one weekly charter to Hurghada. HiSky will provide one daily flight on the Bucharest–Arad route and one weekly charter to Hurghada. TAROM will operate two daily flights on the Bucharest–Arad route, with the exception of Saturdays when only one flight is scheduled. Wizz Air's schedule is expected to be announced once finalized.

Separately, domestic aviation data for the first half of 2026 shows that over 501,000 passengers traveled on regular domestic routes in Romania, a 5% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The Bucharest–Cluj-Napoca route remains the busiest domestic route, followed by Bucharest–Timișoara and Bucharest–Iași.
