Timisoara transforms three school courtyards into green learning spaces

The Timisoara City Hall, through its Administration for Health and Education, is allocating roughly 350,000 lei to redesign the courtyards of three local schools under the "iȘcoala Verde" programme. The project, run in partnership with the Alber Foundation and the Timiș County School Inspectorate, will create outdoor learning and recreation areas at Liceul Teoretic Grigore Moisil, Liceul Tehnologic de Silvicultură și Agricultură Casa Verde, and Școala Gimnazială nr. 21 Vicențiu Babeș.

At Grigore Moisil a 150‑square‑metre green zone with trees, shrubs and seating will be installed. The courtyard of Școala Gimnazială nr. 21 will receive about 800 m² of landscaped paths, green zones and outdoor classroom spaces. Casa Verde will host a 450 m² "green amphitheatre" surrounded by plantings and walkways. Vice‑mayor Paula Romocean said the initiative aims to bring students closer to nature and support outdoor educational activities.
