Timmendorfer Strand Mayor Sven Partheil-Böhnke banned from office
Sven Partheil-Böhnke, the FDP mayor of Timmendorfer Strand, has been issued a ban from performing his official duties by the municipal main committee. The decision is based on the Civil Service Status Act, which requires officials to perform their duties impartially and for the public good.
The ban follows several controversies and investigations. One incident involves an alleged confrontation in June where Partheil-Böhnke reportedly stopped a cyclist on a pedestrian promenade in Niendorf, demanded an unauthorized fine, and poured a glass of wine over the individual.
Additionally, the mayor faces investigations regarding insults and the alleged fabrication of a crime following the stranding of the humpback whale ‘Timmy’ near Niendorf. He is also under scrutiny for an investigation involving suspected attempted extortion, coercion, and usurpation of office. This includes an incident where he allegedly used his official email account to insult YouTuber Robert Marc Lehmann.
