Timoria celebrates 25th anniversary of El Topo Grand Hotel

The Italian band Timoria is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their album, El Topo Grand Hotel, which was originally released in February 2001. To mark the occasion, a new limited edition of the album has been released on CD and double LP, featuring a booklet with photographs, memorabilia, and a comic book preview.

Musician Omar Pedrini described the album as a pivotal moment for the band, occurring after the departure of lead singer Francesco Renga. Rather than replacing the vocalist, the band reinvented themselves by having multiple members contribute vocals. The release, which included the hit song Sole spento, eventually achieved gold status.

A celebratory, theatrical concert is scheduled for November 11 at the Alcatraz venue in Milan. Pedrini noted that the upcoming performance will incorporate actors, poetry, and period scenography to recreate the atmosphere of the original work.
