Timothy “Buc Wild” Joseph, former Hot 97 radio host, dies at 47

Timothy “Buc Wild” Joseph, a prominent radio personality and co-host of the “Star & Buc Wild” show on Hot 97, has died at the age of 47. His death was announced by his longtime co-host and friend, Troi “Star” Torain, during a recent livestream.

Joseph passed away on Sunday, September 6, at the Pink Houses apartment complex in Brooklyn, New York. While an official cause of death has not been confirmed, Torain noted that Joseph may have been exposed to fentanyl.

Torain reflected on their decades-long relationship, describing Joseph as someone he helped raise and viewed as a son. He also touched upon Joseph’s struggles with dyslexia, noting how they worked together at Hot 97 to improve his reading skills through segments like “Buc Wild’s Lottery Numbers.” The duo’s career spanned from public access television to MTV and major radio platforms, leaving a significant impact on hip-hop culture.
