Timothy Davis sentenced to prison for Centennial puppy theft diversion
Timothy Davis, 39, has been sentenced to two years in the Colorado Department of Corrections and one year of parole after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit theft. The sentencing follows a February 2025 incident at the Perfect Pets store in Centennial, where Davis orchestrated a diversion to facilitate the theft of two English Bulldog puppies.
According to investigators, Davis entered the store separately from his accomplice, Jonathan Muniz. After inquiring about the puppies, Davis feigned a medical emergency by falling to the ground, prompting employees to rush to his aid. During the distraction, Muniz removed the lid from the puppy enclosure and fled with the animals, which were valued at over $4,000 each. An employee attempting to intervene was kicked in the face during the struggle.
Both puppies were eventually recovered and returned. Muniz was previously convicted in September 2025 on charges including robbery, felony theft, conspiracy to commit felony theft, and third-degree assault, receiving an eight-year prison sentence.
