The match featured former allies who previously held the GHC Tag Team Championship together in Pro Wrestling NOAH. After a technical battle involving various submission holds and strikes, Thatcher defeated Suzuki using a Fujiwara armbar.

Following the match, Thatcher expressed respect for Suzuki but declared that his own time had arrived in All Japan Pro Wrestling. A frustrated Suzuki acknowledged Thatcher’s strength, stating that any comments he made would sound like excuses, and expressed his desire for other wrestlers to challenge Thatcher effectively.
