Tina Charles launches 78 Brewing Co. beer brand

Retired WNBA All-Star and University of Connecticut basketball standout Tina Charles has launched a new beer brand, 78 Brewing Co. The brand name is a tribute to the Huskies’ historic 78-0 back-to-back NCAA championship seasons.

Charles, an eight-time WNBA All-Star and former Rookie of the Year, aims to enter a market where Black ownership and female ownership are significantly underrepresented. Her flagship product is a Hazy IPA designed to be approachable and smooth, catering to both beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers.

The brand is currently available across Connecticut, including at Mohegan Sun.
