Tina Maze reflects on retirement and potential skiing return

Former Slovenian alpine skiing champion Tina Maze has reflected on her life and career a decade after her retirement in 2017. In recent interviews, the two-time Olympic gold medalist discussed the possibility of a competitive return to the slopes.

Maze noted that while a return is theoretically possible, her current family life and responsibilities would make it difficult. She mentioned having dreamed of competing in the Olympic race in Cortina, observing that a return to downhill racing might be more feasible than technical disciplines, similar to the path taken by American skier Lyndsey Vonn.

Beyond sports, Maze shared insights into her personal life, including her relationship with partner Andrea Massi and their daughter, Anouk. She expressed satisfaction with her current life, noting that she has transitioned away from the intense media dynamics and extreme lifestyle of her professional racing years.
