Tinajo begins festivities for Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores

The 2026 festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores have officially commenced in Tinajo, Lanzarote. The celebrations began on Wednesday with a proclamation dedicated to the professionals of the Lanzarote Health Area.

Dr. María Teresa Godoy Suárez, director of the Tinajo Health Center, delivered the proclamation on behalf of the healthcare collective. Her speech recognized the historical evolution of healthcare on the island, addressing past challenges such as epidemics and droughts, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining human connection alongside technological advancements in medicine.

The festival program includes the 37th Lanzarote Craft Fair and a pilgrimage scheduled for Saturday, September 12. While the singer Malú is set to perform for the closing ceremonies, local officials noted that the artist Quevedo was also considered during the planning stages but could not be secured for this year's lineup.
