Tine Rotevatn Nyland criticizes Norwegian media over husband's coverage

Tine Rotevatn Nyland has issued a sharp critique of the Norwegian press, describing recent media coverage of her husband, national team goalkeeper Ørjan Håskjold Nyland, as ‘a hell’. In a series of public Snapchat posts that were later deleted, she accused journalists of deciding that he should no longer be part of the national team.

The controversy follows intense debate regarding Nyland’s performance in recent Nations League matches, including a loss to Wales where he was criticized for conceding a free-kick goal. The discussion intensified after national team coach Ståle Solbakken announced that Egil Selvik would start in the upcoming match against Portugal, signaling a potential change in the starting goalkeeper position.

Rotevatn Nyland questioned why the media finds it so difficult to allow her husband to succeed, asking why there is such effort to ‘disprove everything he stands for and has worked so hard for’.
