Tino Livramento injury deepens Newcastle United defensive crisis

Newcastle United is facing a significant defensive injury crisis following a fresh setback for full-back Tino Livramento. The 23-year-old missed the Premier League match against Hull City after sustaining an unspecified injury during training. This latest ailment follows a summer of rehabilitation for a calf injury and a thigh injury that previously prevented his participation in the World Cup.

Head coach Matthias Jaissle is managing a depleted squad, with several players currently sidelined, including Dan Burn, Joelinton, Will Osula, Anthony Elanga, Nico Gonzalez, Jacob Ramsey, and Amar Dedic. The absence of Livramento and Dedic has forced the team to utilize alternatives, such as midfielder Lewis Miley, to cover the right-back position.

While Dan Burn has provided an encouraging update regarding his ankle recovery, the mounting list of absentees has placed considerable strain on the club's selection options. Jaissle noted that the squad's depth is being heavily tested as the team navigates these fitness challenges.
