Tinos to host ‘The Invisible Thread weaves’ cultural initiative

The cultural organization NOMA AMKE will host a multi-layered artistic initiative titled ‘The Invisible Thread weaves’ in the village of Agapi on the island of Tinos from October 8 to 25, 2026. The project integrates research, education, and gastronomy to explore ‘care’ as a central social, spatial, and cultural value, linking it to the intangible heritage of the Cyclades.

Inspired by Italo Calvino’s ‘Invisible Cities’, the initiative views the location through its networks of relationships and narratives rather than geographical boundaries. A central component is a group art exhibition curated by Eleni Glyni, featuring various artists connected to Tinos and contemporary Greek art.

The program also includes an in situ performance by the Italian artistic group InOutput, interdisciplinary discussions, educational workshops for youth, and guided walks to sites of raw material production. This initiative follows previous NOMA AMKE projects on the island, such as the Toichos project and digital documentation of local blacksmithing.
