Tinto Brass receives Pietro Bianchi Prize at Venice Film Festival

Director Tinto Brass has been awarded the prestigious Pietro Bianchi Prize by the Italian Film Journalists (SNGCI) at the Venice Film Festival. The award recognizes Brass as an excellent figure in Italian cinema, celebrating his visionary and unconventional approach to filmmaking. As part of the tribute, a 4K digitally restored version of his 1967 film, ‘Col cuore in gola’, will receive a world premiere.

In Baiso, Italy, events are also being held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the passing of Pietro Bianchi, the influential cultural critic and journalist. The program at Casa Toschi includes a public meeting and the screening of the documentary ‘Il portoghese’, which explores Bianchi’s life and his significant impact on Italian cultural journalism and his ability to link cinema with literature and the arts.
