Tinubu and First Lady blamed for celebrating while Oyo schoolchildren remain kidnapped

Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress criticized President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for holding political celebrations as the kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, which began on May 15, 2026, remains unresolved. In a statement, Atiku said the nation expects urgency and compassion for the abducted families, not campaign songs and luxury gifts for political supporters.

Separately, Atiku’s son, Adamu, posted a tribute on X to his mother, Titi, praising her prayers and sacrifices that he says opened doors for his achievements. The birthday message highlighted her influence and wished her continued health and happiness.
