Tiny house trends expand from mobile micro-living to family-sized compact homes

Alternative living trends are evolving through diverse compact housing solutions, ranging from highly mobile setups to larger family-oriented tiny houses.

In the United States, Taylor and Zoey have transitioned to a nomadic lifestyle using an InTech Discover trailer. Measuring only 9 square meters, the couple has customized the space to accommodate their six motorcycles. To maximize the limited area, they utilize features such as a liftable bed, folding tables, and specialized storage to maintain autonomy while traveling.

In France, the tiny house movement is expanding to accommodate larger groups. Lyon-based designer My Little Group has introduced ‘Family’, a 37-square-meter model designed to house up to six people across three bedrooms. Unlike standard mobile tiny houses that are limited to 2.55 meters in width for road travel, this model is wider and functions more like a compact permanent residence. The company provides end-to-end services, including site studies, administrative assistance, and installation.
