Štip Municipality leases indoor pool to private company

The Municipality of Štip has finalized the lease of its newly constructed indoor pool to a private company, Empira Management and Consulting. Founded by Milan Dimitrovski, the company was the sole bidder in an electronic public tender, offering a monthly rent of 152,321 denars.

The decision has drawn criticism from the political party Levica. Critics argue that the facility, built with public funds, should have been managed by the municipal public enterprise, JP Isar, rather than a private entity that has existed for less than a year.

Štip Mayor Ivan Jordanov defended the move, stating that if the pool were managed by JP Isar, it would likely fail. Opponents have characterized this stance as an admission of the municipality's inability to manage its own resources and public assets effectively.
