Štip to host Pastrmalijada festival with 2.1-meter giant pastry
The annual Pastrmalijada festival in Štip is set to open with a giant pastrmalija measuring 2.10 meters in length. Baker Nikolče Malinov stated that the preparation for this record-breaking attempt will require approximately 17 kilograms of fresh pork, 20 kilograms of flour, and four liters of oil.
The pastry will be baked in a specially adapted oven for approximately 30 to 35 minutes. Despite rising costs, the price for the local specialty will remain 250 denars. More than 30 caterers have applied for stalls to ensure the dish is available to a large number of visitors.
The festival will take place on September 18 and 19 at two locations: the ‘Vančo Prќe’ promenade and the City Stadium. The event will feature musical performances, including headliner Željko Joksimović, alongside Macedonian singers Jovan Jovanov and Elvir Mekić.
