Tipping etiquette sparks debate following calls for mandatory gratuities

Discussions regarding tipping etiquette have resurfaced following comments by restaurateur Mateusz Gessler, who suggested that tips should be mandatory for all customers. This has sparked a debate between those who believe employers should be solely responsible for staff wages and those who view tipping as a gesture of appreciation for good service.

Actress Anna Mucha shared her perspective, noting that while the role of a waiter is vital as a link between the guest and the kitchen, tipping should not be compulsory. She stated that she views tips as a way to reward staff when they perform their duties exceptionally well.

In a related anecdote from the hospitality sector, staff at Hotel Mistral Sport received an unconventional tip. A group from the Lechia Zielona Góra Football Academy left a collection of plastic bottles intended for deposit return, accompanied by a thank-you note, as a way to show appreciation for their stay.
