Tipsy Tuna opens new poke restaurant in Coupeville
A new restaurant, Tipsy Tuna, has opened in Coupeville to provide Hawaiian-style poke bowls to the Whidbey Island area. Owner David Jenson and his wife launched the establishment on Coveland Street, aiming to fill a local demand for both poke and social gathering spaces for young adults.
The current menu features two types of ahi tuna poke: a spicy mayo version with Sriracha mayo, green onions, and tobiko, and a Shoyu version served in soy sauce. The fish is sourced from Key City Fish Company in Port Townsend. The menu also includes egg sandwiches, with tuna sandwiches expected to follow.
Due to its current limited menu, the establishment is technically classified as a tavern, meaning it is currently restricted to patrons aged 21 and over. The venue offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and seltzers, and features outdoor seating.
