Tiramisù World Cup and Panettone competitions crown international winners

The tenth edition of the Tiramisù World Cup in Treviso, Italy, concluded with winners from Brazil and Italy. Marcos Muzzi, a beekeeper from São Paulo, won the traditional recipe category after two years of preparation. Ciro Tomassini from Vicenza took first place in the creative category with a dessert shaped like a beehive, featuring raspberry compote, white chocolate, and lemon honey.

The competition featured 320 participants from 33 countries. Organizer Francesco Redi noted that the event serves as a cultural and economic tool to promote the Veneto region internationally.

In related pastry news, the Mastro Panettone d’Élite competition has announced its finalists for the tenth edition. Artisans from the Abruzzo and Puglia regions have advanced to the final stages, which include a “Mani in pasta” phase where bakers must prepare their panettones live under expert supervision. The final winners will be proclaimed on October 27 in Turi.
