Tirana International Airport manages flight delays after air traffic system issue

Tirana International Airport (TIA) has responded to a temporary technical issue within the air traffic monitoring system managed by Albcontrol. As a safety precaution, flights in Albanian airspace were suspended for several minutes.

The problem reportedly emerged around 17:30. By 18:00, approximately 90% of the systems had returned to normal operation, though teams continued working to recover the remaining functionality.

TIA has deployed maximum available staff to assist passengers affected by flight delays and schedule changes. Travelers are advised to monitor communications from their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight statuses.
