Tirana municipal official warns of unrest during student protests

Alfred Muharremi, a member of the Tirana Municipal Council, has raised alarms regarding ongoing unrest and chaos in Tirana. While acknowledging that student protesters have legitimate demands for improved living standards and quality, Muharremi warned that a “black hand” of paid hooligans and vandals is exploiting the situation to destabilize the country.

Muharremi criticized opposition parties for allegedly attempting to benefit from the unrest. He emphasized that violence and vandalism do not provide solutions and instead cause destruction. He further addressed political tensions, rejecting calls for Prime Minister Edi Rama's resignation and dismissing claims of political violence, instead calling for dialogue and continued progress toward European Union integration.
