Tirana Municipality transforms unused spaces into playgrounds

The Municipality of Tirana is transforming unused urban areas into community spaces following requests from local residents. In Administrative Unit No. 5, an area behind the Vasil Shanto 9-year school that was previously overgrown with weeds has been cleared. This space is slated to be converted into a playground and a seating area for residents.

According to Albi Lushi, head of technical design and supervision at the Parks and Recreation Agency (APR), similar projects are currently underway in Administrative Units No. 3 and No. 7 based on resident requests. Lushi noted that for such transformations to occur, the land must have state status to allow for the necessary legal and administrative procedures.
